Best Developmental toys

I hope you all enjoyed Fé’s 6-Month update! As you can see she is growing so much and enjoying so many things. Over the past few months, we have grown to love some baby products and Fé has gotten attached to some of her favorite baby toys! Here is a list of all our favorite baby products and toys that we have grown to love over the past 6-months!

1. Baby Merlins Magic SleepSuit

This thing is seriously amazing. We had previously used the Halo Sleepsuit (which was also wonderful for when Fé was younger), but once Fé started rolling over in her crib, we had the hardest time putting her down to sleep. She would roll onto her belly and just wouldn’t be able to settle. My wonderful husband did a bunch of research on his own and decided to order this sleepsuit. The first time we put her in the suit, she went down to sleep immediately!! Ever since we bought the suit, she has gone to sleep very quickly after we put her down. The sleepsuit restricts the baby’s movements, making it harder to move, which helps them settle to sleep better. If you are struggling with putting your baby down to sleep, I highly recommend investing in Baby Merlins Magic Sleepsuit. It has been one of our best purchases!

2. Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls

Since we have started baby-led weaning, Fé has a habit of getting food EVERYWHERE! These bowls have suction cups so they stay put when she attempts to fling everything around!

3. Nuby Hot Safe Feeding Spoons

These spoons will let you know if your little one’s food is too hot! They are great for keeping your baby safe as you start weaning (which we have started with Fé!)

4. Kid Smile Formula Dispenser

I LOVE this thing. It has a permanent spot in my diaper bag and I take it everywhere I go. It has four compartments so I can take enough formula for four feedings with me. I think I am even going to get another couple for when I travel. I just keep this, a clean bottle, and a bottle of water in my bag (check out what I keep in my diaper bag here!) and it makes it super easy to feed little Fé wherever we are!

5. Nuby Bug-A-Loop Teether

Fé loves this. She doesn’t have any teeth yet but she is vigorously chewing on anything she can get her hands on! This is the perfect toy to give her when she just can’t keep anything out of her mouth!

6. Lamaze Freddie the Firefly toy

This (I think) is Fé’s favorite toy! It has so many different rings to grab, different textures to explore, and makes a bunch of different sounds. I keep this on Fé’s stroller and it keeps her entertained when we go for walks. She loves it!

7. Baby Keys

Favorite Baby Products

My mother-in-law ordered these keys for Fé after she kept wanting to play with her keys on her keychain. They were a huge hit! Fé loves them! She loves to rattle them and bite them (they make great teethers!) I have found that the simplest toys are the best.

8. Sophie La Girafe

Favorite Baby Products

Fé loves her Sophie! For times when she just wants to chew she always goes for this toy! It is seriously one of the best teethers!

9. Universal Stroller Footmuff

Before we got this footmuff, we were using blankets wrapped around Fé’s legs to keep her warm whilst in the stroller. She would always end up kicking them off and throwing a huge fit when she got cold. With this universal footmuff, it stays put on her stroller and zips up so she stays nice and cozy!

10. Play Mat

Favorite Baby Products

We got a wonderful “I Spy” mat made by my great auntie. It is so cute and Fé plays on it every single day! But if you don’t have an auntie with wonderful quilting skills, I suggest purchasing some sort of play mat for your little one to play on (unless you have really clean floors!) This quilted play mat is really cute! Or you could go for a fancy tummy time mat!

11. Books!

Favorite Baby Products

When we were in Holland we bought a bunch of Dutch books because we want Fé to grow up knowing both Dutch (from her daddy) and English! I have started reading some of these simple word books to Fé before bed every night. While she probably has no idea what I am saying she enjoys looking at the photos. I think it is great to start reading to Fé from an early age! There is also an English version of Sophie’s First Words!

I have a personalized book coming in the mail from a company called I See Me Books! I am so excited and will be posting a review of it shortly so keep a look out for that!

12. Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this diaper bag! It is so stylish yet so functional. The bag stores everything I need for Fé and keeps everything organized, all while looking like a stylish tote bag. It is my favorite diaper bag of all time and I am so so happy I purchased this one from Petunia Pickle Bottom.

13. Logitech Circle Camera

We use this camera as a baby monitor and it is amazing. We simply log into an App on our phones or our laptops and we can see Fé. For nighttime, we can keep the app on on our phones so we can hear Fé. The camera automatically saves the days recorded video and we can play back any video we want. It also generates a ‘day brief’ where it creates a fun 60 video putting together the highlights from the day. In addition, there is a two-way speaker so we can soothe Fé over the microphone if she is crying. It is probably a little bit more expensive than your average baby monitor, but we figure we will be using it long after Fé is a baby. We can use it later as a security camera or a general house monitor. We love it and it has proven itself to be an extremely useful purchase!

As always thanks for reading and see you next time!
