Flashback Friday 2

Hello Everybody and Welcome to my Second Edition of FLASHBACK FRIDAY!!

Flashback Friday 2

38 Weeks Pregnant

This week on Flashback Friday, I am 38 weeks pregnant and I am getting oh so anxious about this baby coming! Im experiencing a lot of anxiety as my due date approaches. I think I am both nervous about Labor and Delivery and also adjusting to life after the baby has arrived! Daniel has been so supportive and he is just as excited as I am about our new arrival! He has done a really great job of calming me down when my emotions get a little out of hand and he also reassures me that everything will be okay. Of course, I know that everything will be fine but its hard to see when everything seems so uncertain!

Regardless of how I am feeling emotionally, physically, I am very very ready to have this baby! I believe the baby has dropped and is now fully engaged and all ready to go! She has already been engaged since 29 weeks, but last week she made her final drop even further down into my pelvis. I hope this means labor is coming soon! This is one of the early signs of labor!

My heartburn has subsided a little bit, but it is still pretty bad some nights. In addition, I am having a lot of restless nights full of pregnancy anxiety, heartburn, and just not being able to get comfortable!

I am feeling many more cramps in my lower abdomen (they feel like period cramps!) and those lightning pains in my cervix! I am also having some mild back pains, I hope this is another sign that labor is near!

Baby Purchases

This week we are also making last minute preparations for little Fé! We made two big purchases this week!

First, we bought a baby seat called the Nuna Leaf and it is simply AMAZING! It is made to resemble a leaf falling gently from a tree and it rocks gently back and forth! With one gentle push the seat rocks back and forth for about 3 minutes (we timed it!) Also, the fabric is 100% organic cotton which Daniel and I are all about these days=)

The Nuna leaf doesn’t come with a motor but we bought the Nuna Wind to go along with it. It is a little motor that you can attach to the bottom part where it swivels and it gently rocks the seat side to side. Unfortunately, the Wind isn’t available on Amazon.com but you can find it at the Nuna Leaf website! I really hope Fé likes the baby seat so we will have to find out after she arrives =)

Second, we have been looking for the perfect baby monitor for quite some time. Because we live in a teeny little apartment, and plan to move very shortly after the baby is born, we don’t really need a baby monitor now. There has been some trouble in our neighborhood and Daniel has been wanting to put a camera out our front window for security reasons for quite sometime.

We did a lot of research and decided to buy the Logitech Circle Wireless 1080p Video Battery Powered Security Camera with 2-way Talk (White)! This way we can use it now as a security camera, and when we move, we can put it in the baby’s room and use it as a baby monitor! It streams directly to your phone and also to your computer so we can always see

Dolphinariumwhats going on! It is also battery powered and data can be stored on a hard drive (that was important for Daniel!) You can go to the Logitech website for more information as well =) So far we love it!

This week, Daniel surprised me with a trip to Dolphinarium, which is sort of like the Dutch version of SeaWorld (but much smaller). It was so fun to get out of the house and do something completely different! We were able to see a Dolphin show, two sea Lion shows and a Walrus show! It was a total blast and the perfect way to get our minds off of our baby’s impending arrival!

Recipe of the Week!

This week I created a recipe for Healthy Pregnancy Muffins, including some powerhouse pregnancy ingredients like Oatmeal and Dates. I also whipped up a batch of these Healthy Oatmeal Banana Cookies with Raisins! If you want to make them more pregnancy friendly (which they totally are in the first place!) you can substitute dried dates or even dried apricots! These cookies are super easy to make and only require a few basic ingredients. They are completely healthy with no added sugars or artificial sweeteners and contain a ton of fiber! (Us pregnant ladies LOVE our fiber!)
